Tug's Tellings of Heart's Dwellings

Someone thought about you
While you weren’t there
And wanted to tell their heart’s tale
But wasn’t allowed such a chance
Wasn’t allowed the words
To say all that they wanted

Sitting silently, amidst many and in solace
Wondering about you
Wondering over times gone by
Left to ask and wonder why
Life has come and gone in such a way
As to leave you two in different places
With different people
And different comings and goings to the day

They wanted to be reminded
Of a way they felt once
Of a way you spoke,
Danced, and laughed
Over this and talked about that

They wanted that night to be like one before
When things were as they were
They knew you once
And you knew them as well
It was a time when listening was wanted
And talking came at the others convenience

Wasn’t such a tale to tell
When we were together
Just you and me
With words which now are never heard
Names, places, and people never spoken
With only photos, cards, letters as a token
We alone know of our places, our time, our tales
It is known by the both of us

Time tells me I should know more
After all I’ve moved about since then
And so have you, however, strings tug my heart
Whenever I get too far away I’m pulled back to the start
Reminded there are limits and ties I will not cut
Things I wont go blind to, things to which my eyes never shut
I come back to believe, hope, and feel for you in all you do
